Edinilen bilgiye göre, Küçükbalıklı Mahallesi'nde faaliyet gösteren bir koltuk imalathanesinin yan kısmında henüz belirlenemeyen bir nedenle yangın çıktı. Kısa sürede etkisini artıran alevler, rüzgarın da etkisiyle imalathanenin dış kısmındaki elyaf ve sünger yığınlarına sıçradı. Bursa İş Ofisi Karacabey'de istihdama destek oluyor İçeriği Görüntüle Alevler bazalara ve sandukalara sıçradı Hızla yayılan yangın, imalathanede bulunan koltuk sandukaları ve bazaları da tehdit etti.

Durumun 112 Acil Çağrı Merkezi'ne bildirilmesi üzerine olay yerine çok sayıda polis ve itfaiye ekibi sevk edildi. Olay yerine kısa sürede ulaşan itfaiye ekipleri, alevlere köpükle müdahale ederek yangını kontrol altına aldı. Çevredeki evlere sıçrama riski bulunan yangın, ekiplerin yoğun çalışmaları sonucu tamamen söndürüldü.
